What is a chapel?
A chapel is a community of people who are at some distance from their parish or from an Orthodox church in general. A Mother Parish reaches out to these people by providing services to them where they live. In time, if the chapel attracts new people and grows, it might graduate to being an autonomous ‘mission.’ Or it may remain an outreach chapel. Either way, the Church establishes a presence in a new area – like Waukesha or Plymouth in Sheboygan County. Our nucleus in each of these places consists of present or former members of SS Cyril & Methodius in Milwaukee.
